AstraZeneca India Private Limited (AZIPL) is the global capability centre responsible for driving AstraZeneca’s digital agenda, strengthening digital infrastructure and developing technological capabilities that aids in effective and faster delivery of medicines and enhancing our patient experience. With offices in Chennai and Bengaluru, the entity has close to 3000 employees catering to services including IT services, Global Business Services (GBS) and R&D capabilities among others. The Global Innovation & Technology Centre (GITC) in Chennai and R&D Bangalore sites together play a key role in innovation and transformation projects enabling and empowering AstraZeneca’s core business processes – from Discovery, Development, Production, Launches to Supply all the way through the value chain.

GBS
Global Business Services (GBS) function in India is a diverse, inclusive and innovative group that identifies, builds and delivers excellent shared services to enable AstraZeneca to grow and change at speed. The team in Chennai and Bangalore are fully integrated with our global offices and together cater to over 50+ markets. The teams help enable the company’s vision by freeing up time and resources, protecting AZ’s value and reputation and providing a path to new capabilities.

R&D
Global Medicines Development- R&D, with over 300 employees who significantly contribute to the business, from Clinical, Patient Safety, Regulatory Affairs, Biometrics & Clinical Data and Management. Established in 2017, R&D Bangalore supports in key scientific capabilities from medical chemistry to biometrics, patient safety to data science and artificial intelligence, data programmers and regulatory science all of which accelerates discovery and development in our efforts to bring new medicines to patients.
SM&M
Site Management and Monitoring (SM&M) function with dedicated, energetic & highly qualified individuals engages in execution of clinical studies to generate high quality data eligible for submissions to regulatory agencies across the world aimed at developing life altering medical products. Guided by the values & processes of AstraZeneca, international guidelines & local regulatory framework the team collaborates with top-notch healthcare practitioners and medical institutes to bring AstraZeneca’s medicines as quickly, safely and efficiently as possible.
The core team is based out of Bengaluru and members spread across major cities such as Delhi, Mumbai, Kolkata, Pune & Hyderabad.
